Today we'll create a tutorial on how to create an URL shortner using TinyURL with AS3. TinyUrl is a url shortener similar to Bit.ly that we all use when we share our favorite links and blog posts on the social networks.

Let's get started. We'll skip the open a new document step. We are not beginners anymore.

To customize the script for your needs, change the URL string with your own domain name and run the application to generate the shortened Url. Don't forget to save your file.

    variables.url = String("http://www.domain.com");

Second variable required forthis script to work is the path of the Tinyurl API. We are calling “api-create.php” server-side page.

After loading the script your results should be the shortened Url.
